Womens 1s win Battersea Tournament

 

The Womens 1s have successfully defended their title at the Battersea International Festival and run out comfortable winners on the Sunday for the third year running.

 

The team managed to get through without dropping a point and, at least to some extent, this makes up for the disappointment in losing the HA Trophy final.

 
Guildford Clubhouse

Guildford Tour announced

 

The Dragons have announced that they are taking a side to the Guildford LadyBoys Festival on 15-17 July.

 

The mixed team have gone to the festival every year since its inception in 2003. The tour is a very social affair and the emphasis is placed on fun rather than skill. With the amount of beer flowing that is probably just as well. Anyone interested in going should contact Mark Jones.

HA Trophy Runners-Up

 

The Womens 1s finally ended their cup run by losing 2-0 to Purley Walcountians in the HA Trophy final up at Old Loughtonians HC on finals day 21-May.

 

This was the third meeting of the two teams over the course of the season with the spoils being shared equally in the two league games. Sadly, Purley were the better team on the day.
