Wednesday 31-Oct-07Mens 1s Match On TV...
During the run up to the Rugby World Cup Semi-Final against France, French TV came down to film at Dulwich College. The idea was that some of the English players were ex-students of the college and the TV company wanted to do a piece showing sport in Dulwich.
In addition to filming the Mens 1s play, there was also an interview with James Huntley - current Mens 1s player and school friend of Toby Flood.
Sadly on the day the Mens 1s lost 2-1 to Gore Court but more importantly the English rugby team beat France to qualify for the World Cup Final. |

Sunday 28-Oct-07Ones March On...
Wins for both the Mens 1s and Womens 1s on Saturday saw them march on up the table. The Mens narrowly beat legue leaders 2-1 in a close fought match at Dulwich College, while the Women dispatched Wimbledon 4-1.
In the Mens section the results were mixed. The 3s bounced back from their drubbing last weekend to win in excellent fashion against Maidenhead while both the Tornados and Royals continued their runs of bad form but losing again. The Diamonds continue to cement their position in the table with another draw.
Not many games in the Women's section due to the half term break - just the two games for the Womens 1s. Having beaten Wimbledon on the Saturday the 1s drew 3-3 with Oxford Uni on Sunday. The 3s were hoping to get last week's game rearranged but Raynes Park were unable to raise a side. So they also had no fixture.
No game again for the Dragons but they are in action for the first time in three weeks next Sunday. |

Sunday 21-Oct-07Winter's Drawing in...
As the weather turned colder this week and England lost at nearly every sport imaginable there was an unprecedented number of drawn games on match day. The Men 2s, Diamonds, Womens 4s and T5 all drew their respective fixtures.
Mixed news from the Men's section with the 1s back to winning ways but both the 3s and Tornados taking a fair pounding in their home games. Indian Gym threw another fixture against THD and this time the Royals were the recipient.
The Women's section saw the 1s & 2s on a rest week while the 3s suffered from a double booking on the pitch and were unable to play. Both the 5s and 6s slipped up in their matches.
The Dragons were also on a rest break until November. |

Monday 15-Oct-07Double Top Spot...
Both the Diamonds and the Womens 4s came away from their fixtures 3 points better off and are sitting pretty at the top of their respestive divisions.
The Womens Section also saw wins for both the 1s and 2s at the weekend while the 3s has no game. The 5s managed a draw and the 6s were the only playing womens team not to record a point.
News from the Mens Section was not as good. Losses for the 1s, 2s, Tornados & 3s... despite the later being filmed by French TV.
Meanwhile on Sunday, UCL were the recipients of the THD Dragons backlash when they were put to the sword 16-0 as the Dragons turned on the style after last weeks debacle! |

Sunday 15-Oct-07Tornados blow away cobwebs...
The Tornados finally started their league fixtures at the weekend with a win against Chiswick at Dulwich College. One of only four teams to win on Saturday. The other positive results were for the Mens 1s, Diamonds & Womens 4s.
The Womens section saw some very close games with narrow margins recorded in the defeats in most cases. However, the 1s are struggling to find the form that made them Trophy winners and Division runners-up last term.
The Mens section saw some heavy defeats with both the 3s and the Royals taking a pasting. The 2s were edged out by Hampstead & Westminster at a combatative encounter.
Sunday saw the Dragons take a hammering at Battersea. A rare defeat for the mixed side can, at least in part, be blamed on the social at the Swan the night before!
Also, just a reminder that the Awards dinner is on Saturday 13-Oct at the Rosendale in Dulwich. The event should be a great way to celebrate the past season's successes and to kick start this year's social program. |

Sunday 30-Sep-07Starting with a few wobbles...
Finally the start of the season - for most THD teams - arrived at the weekend... although some will wish it was still a week away. Not the most amazing start with only one of the senior sides managing a win - the Womens 2s.
The clubs sides didn't fair much better with only the Mens 3s and Womens 4s getting off to a winning start. That said neither the Womens 5s nor the Royals had games and both the Tornados and the Diamonds were still finishing off their pre-season matches.
Good news on Sunday though when a strong Dragons team ran out 5-3 winners at Battersea Park. Giving the Dragons back to back wins for their first two games.
Don't Forget - the AGM is to be held at the clubhouse on the evening of Monday 01-October. To see last season's accounts or for official notice of the AGM please click here. |

Tuesday 25-Sep-07Pre-Season continues apace...
The THD pre-season is in full swing with a couple of weeks of intra-club games now passed. Good results for the Mens 3s and the Womens 1s see early signs of hope for a successful season. Whereas preparations within the other teams also gives cause for high expectations.
This weekend sees the majority of teams kick start their league campaigns at home - although the Dragons have already started their season with a walkover against London Wayfarers last Sunday!

Sunday 09-Sep-07Pre-Season begins & AGM announced...
The Men's section began their pre-season this weekend with a series of fixtures against Hampstead & Westminster. On the whole the signs were good with all but two of the sides in action coming away victorious.
